STANLIB Lesotho (Pty) Ltd, previously Standard Lesotho Bank Unit Trust (Pty) Ltd, is a licensed financial services provider regulated by the Central Bank of Lesotho under the Collective Investment Schemes Regulations, 2001. STANLIB Lesotho was established in 2001 as a joint-venture between Standard Lesotho Bank and STANLIB South Africa.

STANLIB Lesotho is a multi-specialist asset manager that connects retail and institutional clients with multiple investment opportunities across asset classes and markets. We believe in multi-specialist investing to achieve extraordinary results.

Our funds include:

  • The Standard Lesotho Bank Income Fund, a unit trust that aims to offer a reasonable current income while maintaining stability for capital invested.
  • The Standard Lesotho Bank Money Market Fund, a collective investment scheme that aims to maximize income while preserving capital over the medium term, and ensure liquidity of funds invested.
  • The STANLIB Lesotho Multi-Asset capability for institutional investors seeking investment in a diversified spread of equity and fixed-income securities.
  • The STANLIB Lesotho Equity Fund, a unit trust that aims to obtain steady growth of income and capital, a reasonable level of income, and maximum stability for capital invested.

Our clients are mainly institutional and corporate investors with short-term cash management and medium- to long-term investment needs. Our retail clients comprise of individual investors, high-net-worth individuals, stokvels, clubs, small business associations and community cooperatives.

Our Team

Kelello Rametse
General Manager

B.A. - Economics and Statistics, M.Sc. – Economics

Kelello has over ten years’ experience in financial services, seven of which were in Banking and the last four years spent in investment management services at STANLIB Lesotho. He is the current General Manager of STANLIB Lesotho, a position he has held from July 2011 to date.

Kelello joined STANLIB Lesotho in October 2009 as a Business Development Manager and was responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy, growing the institutional client portfolio and external stakeholder management. In his current role he is in charge of sales strategy development and agreeing the retail and institutional client engagement plan for Lesotho market. He is also responsible for defining and creating appropriate organisational structures, to drive the mission and vision of STANLIB Lesotho


Lehlomela Mokhati
Finance and Compliance Officer

General Accountant (GA) (CAS Lesotho)

Lehlomela is a Finance and Compliance Officer - he is in charge of Finance and Compliance function. He is a qualified General Accountant (GA) and member of Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) with more than seven years’ experience in Accounting and Audit Profession and in the Financial Services Industry. His has gained experience in various areas including External and Internal Auditing, Regulatory reporting, Treasury and Financial and Management Accounting. Lehlomela is currently studying towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification with the Centre for Accounting Studies in Lesotho.


Mohlabinyane Mohapi,
Business Development Manager

B.A. Economics

Mohlabinyane heads the business development department at STANLIB Lesotho, and is responsible for corporate and institutional clients while overseeing retail clients’ acquisition strategies. He started his career at Standard Lesotho Bank as a Graduate trainee in 2009 where he worked at the International Business Centre (foreign exchange), he joined STANLIB in 2010 as a Business Development Consultant and in 2012 he has given the Business Development Managers role. Mohlabinyane holds an Economics degree from the National University of Lesotho. Mohlabinyane is currently studying towards Honours in Investment Management with the University of Free State (UFS).


Maretsepile Monddy Mohoanyane
Business Development Consultant

BA Economics, Honours in Financial Economics (UFS)

Maretsepile Monddy Mohoanyane is currently a Business Development Consultant at STANLIB Lesotho. Her main responsibilities include, acquiring of new high value clients to grow portfolio, increasing business profitability and assessing clients’ needs as well as providing advice to clients on a wide and diverse range of investment solutions. She has worked as an account analyst in Business Banking suite at SLB. She started her career in Corporate Investment Banking as a clerk. She has successfully obtained Honours in Financial Economics at University of Free State (UFS) and is currently studying towards her MBA with UFS Business School.


Thabo Rampai
Business Development Consultant

B.Com – Marketing

Thabo is a Business Development Consultant at Stanlib Lesotho focusing mainly on the Business Portfolio. He has over five years’ experience in the financial services industry of which three years were spent at different roles in both SME and Commercial Banking clients. . Thabo also brings with him vast experience in research, sales, marketing and finance gained over the years. He holds Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing from National University of Lesotho He is currently studying towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning with the University of Free State.


Tseleng Mohale
Administration Officer

Tseleng is an Administration Officer at STANLIB Lesotho. She has worked with the organization from 2006 in the same position and her duties includes being in charge of maintaining client information records in the form of client files for all clients segments and in ensuring the efficient processing of clients requests, repurchases, top ups, late estate administration within group requirements and country legislation. Her duties also include servicing internal Banccasurance clients and general office administration which ensures that processes are in order for the smooth running of the office.


Mokhele Chobokoane
Administration Officer

B.Com – Marketing

Mokhele Chobokoane is currently the Administration Officer at Stanlib Lesotho. He has been with the organization for two years handling investments and additional deposits for both Lesotho and South African funds. He holds a degree in marketing which he obtained in 2008. He began his career in 2008 when he joined Standard Lesotho Bank, branch banking before moving over to Marketing until Dec 2011. His current role also involves general office administration which ensures that processes are in order for the smooth running of the office.


Mamokotjo Lekau
Liaison Officer

Diploma in Public Administration & Management - LIPAMBA Social sciences - PAPS (NUL)

Mamokotjo is currently a Liaison Officer at STANLIB Lesotho since March 2013. She acts as a-go-between incoming clients, suppliers and liaising them with STANLIB office in office administration. She started her banking experience from 2007 at Standard Lesotho Bank in various departments namely; CIB & Business banking as a temporary receptionist, Learning & Development as temporary Administration Officer and OPC as bank Clerk. She holds diploma in Public administration and Management from Lesotho Institution of Public Administration and Management. She further completed her degree in Public Administration and Political Science at the National University of Lesotho.
