Become an adviser

Become and adviser

To sell the wide range of investment solutions, advisers are required to be registered and accredited with STANLIB. Once registered, advisers will also be able to access the most up to date information and tools that will assist them in the sales process . The registration and accreditation processes are detailed below.

Liberty Agent/Franchise or Standard Bank Financial Services Consultants (SBFC)

  1. New advisers who are either Liberty Agents or SBFC consultants and wish to become accredited STANLIB advisers need to register on STANLIB Online.To view how to register please click here

  2. Complete the accreditation process to ensure understanding of STANLIB processes and products.

    The accreditation process is as follows:
    1. Go to http://learning.liberty.co.za
    2. Follow the prompts on the screen after you have entered your uacf id and password.
    3. Scroll down to the STANLIB examination section and click on it. Complete the examination and make sure you have answered all questions.
    4. Your results will be sent automatically when you have finished the examination.
  3. Once you have passed the accreditation, the results will be forwarded to STANLIB and your registration process will commence within 48 hours.

  4. You will receive an email informing you of your completed registration and STANLIB broker code.

  5. You are now accredited to advise on and sell STANLIB products within the categories of your current Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services licence.

  6. We will contact you within the 48 hours should there be any queries or if we discover any outstanding information.

     

    Independent Financial Adviser (IFA)

    1. As an IFA, please ensure you have the correct FSB licence category to sell STANLIB investments. To view the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act requirements for STANLIB Collective, Linked and Structured Investments, please click here.

    2. IFA's who wish to become STANLIB accredited advisers need to register on STANLIB Online. For more information on how to register, please click here.

    3. Once your registration has been received by STANLIB, we will complete several compulsory checks.

      These include:
      a. Checking if your brokerage has a contract
      b. Checking your licence categories
      c. A credit check (ITC)

    4. Once we have completed all the compulsory checks, a consultant will contact you to discuss the relationship requirements.

    5. You are then accredited to advise and sell STANLIB products (in accordance with your Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services licence categories). You will receive an email informing you of your competed registration and STANLIB broker code.
     

    Change of detail

    In the event that you change the brokerage you are linked to, it is imperative that you inform us of the change. This can be done by contacting us on 0860 104 418 and informing us of the change.
     

    Register your Administrative Assistants

    Many advisers have Admin Assistants who complete administration duties and assist them in their practices. To promote efficient use of our online site, STANLIB has registration and access facilities for Admin Assistants. If you want your Admin Assistant to assist you with your clients on STANLIB Online they need to register. Please click here to view how to register.

    All new administrative assistants will have to identify which advisers they want to be linked to and inform us of the adviser’s STANLIB id.

    Once this has been received, the administrative assistant will receive a confirmation email with their STANLIB login details.
