STANLIB’s legacy

Full Liberty control completed a process that began in 2002 when Liberty Life and Standard Bank merged their asset management, wealth management and unit trust interests to form STANLIB.

In 2003, Standard Bank and Liberty each sold a 12.6% stake of STANLIB to a BEE consortium known as Quantum Leap Investments. In 2006, Liberty Life shareholders voted in favour of Liberty purchasing Standard Bank and Quantum Leap Investments complete shareholding in STANLIB. This resulted in STANLIB becoming 100% owned by Liberty Life.
